Of the flowery focaccia you had a very small preview on the stories of Instagram: those who follow me carefully will have noticed the photo with Elisa, very proud of her creation. Yes, because with the decoration she actually helped me, my little home artist! This flowery focaccia more than a real recipe it is above all an idea: you can in fact prepare it with any basic dough for focaccia, because everything is in the final decoration, and even here you can range as you wish. Eli and I opted for a flowery meadow with a lot of shining sun on top, but nothing prevents you from making a dog, a small house, or maybe a writing ... If you have even a little bit of artistic flair, the result can only surprise your guests: in my case I brought a fantastic one to the table focaccia in bloom, a true wonder for the eyes and the palate!
How to make flowery focaccia
First of all, prepare the dough for the focaccia: put flour and yeast in a bowl, start adding the water, then add salt and oil and knead until you get a smooth and homogeneous dough.
Put the dough in a bowl lightly greased with oil, cover with cling film (not in contact) and let it rise for at least 1-2 hours or until doubled in volume.
Meanwhile, prepare the vegetables you will use for the decoration.
When the dough has doubled in volume, deflate it gently with floured hands, then roll it out in a lightly greased pan (or lined with parchment paper).
Then proceed with the decoration of the focaccia: we used the mushrooms for the ground, the zucchini for the flower stems, basil and rocket for the leaves, green olives, cherry tomatoes and pumpkin for the petals, corn for the pistils (the part interior of the flowers) and for the sun (together with small pieces of courgette pulp for the rays), and black olives for the birds.
Brush with a little oil and salt the surface a little and cook for about 20 minutes in a convection oven preheated to 190 ° C (if it seems to you that the vegetables are darkening too much, cover with a little aluminum foil).
The flowered focaccia is ready, let it cool at least a little before serving.
