Also for an aperitif, a simple recipe, which I make at festive events and holidays: ham cake and feta cheese.

  • 3 eggs

  • 150 ml of milk or water
  • 150 gr grated cheese or parmesan
  • 50 gr pitted olives
  • 150 gr sachet sachet of baking powder

Servings: 5

Preparation time: less than 60 minutes

RECIPE PREPARATION Check with ham and feta cheese:

Mix all the ingredients until it reaches a viscous consistency and put in the oven, in a cake pan with baking paper, over medium heat for 40-50 min. Bake by checking with a toothpick. If the toothpick is clean then it is ready. It is a festive and very tasty recipe. Guests will appreciate it.

How to fill the roll with boneless lamb leg?

The next day I took the bag of marinated lamb out of the fridge (at least 2-3 hours before putting it in the oven). It is very important that it reaches room temperature. We do not bake cold meats because they will contract and become hard.

I unfolded the meat sheet (with the white part on the outside) and sprinkled it with chopped green garlic and green onion tails. I had a lamb kidney attached to the thigh (back) so I cut it and put it on too.

The next layer was composed of strips of baked pepper that I distributed evenly over the entire surface of the meat. We made sure that everything was oriented along the roll so that it would look nice in the section, when we cut the steak.

On top I crushed the feta cheese. I lightly pressed the filling with my palms to compact it a bit.

How do you connect a lamb roll stuffed with baked peppers, feta and green garlic?

I rolled this tender lamb steak starting at one of the horizontal edges (bottom to top). It doesn't matter if the pieces of cheese or baked pepper still fall out of it because we put them back at the ends of the roll.

Then I tied the roll with food twine. It must be fixed in some way so that it does not open in the oven. There are also special staples for reusable or reusable silicone necklaces. You can use them successfully!

Here is a simple tutorial on tying a steak with string. As in the old days at the post office.

Bake the meatballs in a hot air fryer or oven

Since I didn't want to fry Greek meatballs in an oil bath, I decided to test them the new hot air fryer from HEINNER. Is called In the Airfryer (HAF-1250BK) and you can read more about it here. You can purchase this product from here (currently receiving a 51% discount) or from other partners of HEINNER Electrocasnice (see here).

The hot air fryer has a modern, compact design and perfect finishes. Its use is intuitive and very simple. At the top it has 2 control buttons: the one on the left adjusts the baking temperature (max. 200 C) and the one on the right sets the time (max. 30 minutes). Between them is an LED that illuminates during the operation of the fryer.

The basket of the hot air fryer has a capacity of 2.5 L, is removable, non-stick and has a cold handle with heat protection. Can be washed in the dishwasher.

I prepared my soldierly arranged Greek meatballs.

I turned on the fryer, turned the temperature to 200 C and the time to 20 minutes. The first 5 minutes were pre-heated. The fryer is very quiet, you can barely hear the air circulating in it.

I arranged the meatballs in the fryer basket and greased them on the surface with very little oil (with a brush). In the first round I put only 11 pieces but 12 came in without any problems, especially since they decrease a bit when baked or fried.

I closed the fryer drawer and baked these Greek meatballs for 15 minutes at 200 C. What nice flavors I have in the kitchen! HEINNER Nelle hot air fryer it is equipped with an active filter so the steam discharged in the back area has much attenuated flavors. It doesn't even compare to the intense smell of frying meatballs in a frying pan with oil or baking them in the oven! In addition, you do not heat your kitchen, especially in summer.

The principle of operation of this fryer is based on the circulation of hot air. Thus the dishes are cooked evenly and even brown! I don't get any whitish stews. Look how beautifully my meatballs have browned! I didn't even have to return them. At the end of the set time, the fryer warned me loudly and switched off. So there is no risk of burning the preparations.
